     The beauty of Salt Pond attracts many people from all around. Stay the night at Patten Pond Camping Resort, and you can go for a hike on the Bald Mountain Trail. Through the summer months at Salt Pond highs are regularly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Salt Pond temperatures fall to the 0's. If you need a place to  
   stay Twilite Motel is a great choice. There's so much to do here at Salt Pond that you need to camp here for a while, The Gatherings Family Campground is a magnificent spot for that.
So much amusing stuff to do at Salt Pond, so little time. One of the major features of the surroundings of Salt Pond is Blue Hill, and on a perfect day you can stop at Albion Meadow, a swamp close to Salt Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Why not stop at Blue Hill Harbor also
 
               while you're here, and great hiking is available along the Eagle Lake Trail.
The yearly rainfall here at Salt Pond is about average; November is the month that gets the most rain while February is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A great beach in the vicinity of Salt Pond is Birchhead Shore, and getting to Bragdon Brook from Salt Pond is painless. Whitewater paddling is great on Branch Lake Stream, and dry warm beds await you at Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge.
There are wonderful places to explore along the Blue Hill Trail, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blue Hill Falls.
