The winter       brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Saint Croix Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are great; Brandy Pond is a lake that's close to Saint Croix Lake, and going for a hike on the Pierce Tote Road is always a good adventure. After a long day outdoors Shiretown Motor Inn is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two; close by you locate the Kennedy Tote Road which is a great hiking trail. A normal amount of rain                  falls here at Saint Croix Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most; February is the month with the least moisture. Get your heart beating on the magnificent whitewater of Mattawamkeag River - West Branch, and you can go for a hike on the Old Dam Tote Road. Camping at Bear Mountain Lodge is always a glorious experience.
