Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Paddling on Mattawamkeag River - West Branch is so much fun, and going for a hike on the Kennedy Tote Road is always a wonderful adventure. Saint Croix Lake gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July while February is typically       the driest month. It's a glorious idea to go to East Branch Howe Brook, it's close to Saint Croix Lake; don't leave Saint Croix Lake without first going for a hike along the Old Dam Tote Road. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Saint Croix Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Saint Croix Lake are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.                  Bear Mountain Lodge is a wonderful campground nearby, and St. Croix Stream has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. If you need a spot to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a good choice.
