Mars Hill Country Club is a golf course right next door to Safford Pond; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Bigrock. Going for a hike on the Sweets Trail is always a nice adventure, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Aroostook River. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Palmer Brook from Safford Pond is easy, and camping is available at Neil E Michaud Campground. The yearly       precipitation here at Safford Pond is about average; August is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest. During the warm months, highs generally are in the 70's at Safford Pond, and the overnight is a little colder of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's; overnight lows in the-10's for Safford Pond.
