    The beauty of Saddle Pond is reason enough to stop by. A great close by hotel is Katahdin Inn, and a pleasant place for whitewater paddling is Millinocket Stream. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Saddle Pond. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Saddle Pond temperatures dip to the-10's.  
   Saddle Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout July; February is the month with the least moisture.
There are glorious sites to discover along the Eagle Lake Tote Road, and Saddle Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Munsungan Stream. If you came
 
               for an overnight stay South Branch Pond Campground is a perfect location to camp; you have to stop at Hay Brook Logan when you're here.
