The beauty of Rye Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Presumpscot River Reservoir; Royal River is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. Rye Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest of the months is August. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. This is a great region for folks who like lakes. Presumpscot River Reservoir is a lake in the neighborhood, and while you're here you can play some golf at Sable Oaks Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chandler Brook; while here here do check out nearby Pine Point Beach. The panorama of Blueberry Hill from Rye Pond is striking, and there's some interesting stuff to catch a glimpse of at Clark Pond Dam in the vicinity of Rye Pond. You're sure
to run into some good people from Portland-South Portland here, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Back Shore. Through the warm days of summer at Rye Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. For the period of
the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Rye Pond.
Wassamki Springs Campground is a fine local campground,
and dry warm beds await you at Portland-Days Inn South Portland. That right there is lots already, but it keeps on going; Rye Pond has it all. It's a tremendous idea to stop at Beaver Pond Brook, it's near Rye Pond; if you need a site to stay Courtyard Portland Airport is a magnificent choice.
