Camping is available at Chimney Pond Campground; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Turner Deadwater. Go for a hike on the South Branch Trail. Lakes are good; Deep Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Russell Pond. Throughout the summer here at Russell Pond, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. There are perfect locations to explore along the Howe; the peak of Russell Mountain can be seen from Russell Pond. Mullen Brook flows through this region, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Nesowadnehunk Stream River. | |

An average amount of precipitation falls at Russell Pond; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Ledge Falls is a striking spot to check out while you're at Russell Pond.
Going for a hike on the Wassataquoik Tote Road is always a magnificent adventure, and there's whitewater on Nesowadnehunk Stream for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous location to camp here at Russell Pond is South Branch Pond Campground, and Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a pleasant spot to get some rest.
