Don't       forget to take a splendid little visit to Cranberry Brook, and the Intake Trail offers hiking at its best. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Rum Pond; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and perfect hiking is available along the Number Four Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Big Squaw is just what you                  need; there's tremendous hiking along the Gulf Hagas Trail. Summertime highs at Rum Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Rum Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.
