Rum Pond is not far at all from Bangor, and camping at Roaring Brook Campground is always a great experience. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a good place to spend a night or two, and if you came to camp Chimney Pond Campground is a great location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Chimney Pond Trail. Lakes are fine; Cranberry Pond is a lake that's right next door to Rum Pond. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Rum Pond. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. | |

The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Rum Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sandy Stream; nearby you locate the Dudley Trail which
is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Nesowadnehunk Stream for all you thrill seekers. Going for a hike on the Cathedral Trail is always a delightful adventure; as expected, this is a magnificent neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Helon Taylor Pond is a lake close at hand.
