     Rum Pond is not far at all from Bangor, and camping at Roaring Brook Campground is always a great experience. Visit Rum Brook since you're here at Rum Pond, and if you need a place to stay Americas Best Value Heritage Motor Inn is a good choice. The annual rainfall here at Rum Pond is about average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. If you want a magnificent time in the great  
   outdoors, just come on down to Rum Pond. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a good place to spend a night or two, and if you came to camp Chimney Pond Campground is a great location to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Chimney Pond Trail. Lakes are fine; Cranberry Pond is a lake that's right next door to Rum Pond. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Rum Pond. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's.
 
               The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Rum Pond. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sandy Stream; nearby you locate the Dudley Trail which is a great hiking trail.
This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Nesowadnehunk Stream for all you thrill seekers. Going for a hike on the Cathedral Trail is always a delightful adventure; as expected, this is a magnificent neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Helon Taylor Pond is a lake close at hand.
