    It's always fun to stop by Round Pond. An average amount of rainfall falls at Round Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. There's so much to do here at Round Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Roaring Brook Campground is a tremendous spot for that; after a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two. If the weather is delightful here at Round Pond, you can  
   go for a hike along the Abol Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Round Pond has to offer, you can camp at Chimney Pond Campground.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sandy Stream, and Abol Mountain is clearly visible from Round Pond. But wait, there's more to do close to Round Pond. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Nesowadnehunk Stream; why not take a little spree to Pockwockamus Stream since you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Pockwockamus Pond.
On a magnificent day at Round Pond you can take a hike along the Cathedral Trail, and skiing at Big Squaw is one of those things you just should do. All through the warm months highs here at Round Pond reach the 70's; the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Round Pond night low temperatures all through the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Round Pond you can take a hike along the Dudley Trail. Lakes? Sure, Lower Togue Pond is in close proximity.
