Near Round Pond you locate the Mooseleuk Tote Road which is a wonderful hiking trail, and Millinocket Falls is a striking site to explore while you're at Round Pond. There is a great hiking trail right next door to Round Pond called the Millinocket Lake Tote Road, and Tilly Pond is a magnificent lake close by. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Millinocket Stream has a good whitewater paddling spot       close by, and dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn. Summertime highs at Round Pond mostly tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Round Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. It's a pleasant idea to explore Little Bog Brook, it's right next door to Round Pond; there are other places here than Round Pond, for example Millinocket Lake. This lake                  is so wonderful. Camping is available at Matagamon Wilderness Campground; whitewater paddling is great on Munsungan Stream. Very good water scenery is available at Millinocket Lake Dam close to Round Pond; the Munsungan Lake Tote Road is a brilliant hiking trail close by. Round Pond is a good place of typical rain; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
