Round Pond is right by the Arnold Pond Trail; why not camp at Black Arrow Lodge since you're here at Round Pond. Take a hike on the Morrell Trail; Indian Stream Mountain can be observed from Round Pond. The high level of rain makes Round Pond a pretty wet location; most of the rain falls throughout August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Dead River - North Branch has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by, and Caribou Bog is a great

| | lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Brook is a good site to have a look at, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Saddleback. That right there is plenty already, but it continues; Round Pond has it all. Camping is available at Cathedral Pines Camping Area, and whitewater paddling is great on Moose River - South Branch. Pond, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Arnold Trail. During the summertime months here at Round Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through
the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Round Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
