Go to Round Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Round Pond gets lots of water; most of the rain falls throughout August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Here at Round Pond you can see Indian Stream Mountain; why not take a refreshing hike along the Arnold Pond Trail. You could also explore Caribou Bog if you're here at Round Pond; it's close by; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Arnold Trail. You'll need more

| | than a day to look at everything Round Pond has to offer, you can camp at Black Arrow Lodge, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Dead River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Moose River - South Branch, and do take a hike on the Morrell Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Pond is a magnificent idea; Round Pond is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a perfect place to camp nearby. During the days of summer highs here at Round Pond reach the 70's. Once the
sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Round Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. The skiing at Saddleback is great, and Round Pond is not the only spot close by, Natanis Pond is a close by lake.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
