This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Cathedral Pines Camping Area since you're here at Round Mountain Pond, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Round Mountain Pond; Morrell Trail is a wonderful local trail. Lakes? Sure, Chain Lakes is in the neighborhood; Black Arrow Lodge is a glorious local campground. During the warm months here at Round Mountain Pond,       high temperatures regularly reach the 70's, and the night is fairly colder of course, generally in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Round Mountain Pond temperatures fall to the-10's. The annual rain here at Round Mountain Pond is about average; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Get drenched paddling on Dead River - North Branch, and the best                  way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Saddleback.
