    The beauty of Rocky Pond is reason enough to stop by. Pockwockamus Stream is in the neighborhood of Rocky Pond and is always a bliss to explore, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Dudley Trail. For the period of the days of summer at Rocky Pond highs are usually in the 70's, and the night is a bit chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 20's with temperatures at Rocky Pond dipping down  
   into the-10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Sandy Stream. There's so much to do here at Rocky Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Chimney Pond Campground is a perfect place for that.
Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Abol Trail, and why not head up to Big Squaw and strap some skis to your feet. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things close to Rocky Pond. Rocky Pond is pleasant
 
               enough to spend more than a day at, Roaring Brook Campground is a pleasant local campground, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Cathedral Trail. Katahdin Inn is a splendid site to get some rest, and glide down the rapids of Nesowadnehunk Stream in a kayak.
From Rocky Pond you obtain a good vista of Abol Mountain, and Pockwockamus Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Rocky Pond, you could also explore close by Lower Togue Pond. Rocky Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February.
