     Don't leave Rock Pond without first going for a hike along the Morrell Trail; unsurprisingly, this is a splendid neighborhood for people who like lakes, Big Island Pond is a lake in the vicinity. A great deal of rain falls at Rock Pond; the month with most of the rain is August; the driest month of the year is February. There's glorious hiking along the Arnold Pond Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Kennebago  
   River.
Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are truly bountiful here at Rock Pond. Nearby lakes? Sure, Big Island Pond is next to Rock Pond, and camping is available at Cupsuptic Campground. The Arnold Trail offers hiking at its best, and a great place to camp here at Rock Pond is Cathedral Pines Camping Area. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Saddleback and strap some skis to your feet, and if you come at the right time of year, Dead River - North Branch
 
               offers some wonderful whitewater.
Summertime highs at Rock Pond generally tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Rock Pond night low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
