Lakes are such calm spots, why not stop by Round Pond near Rock Pond, and skiing at Saddleback is one of those things you just must do. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Rock Pond. L Pond is a brilliant lake near Rock Pond. There's so much to do here at Rock Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Dead       River - North Branch has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby, and great hiking is available along the Arnold Trail. Through the summer at Rock Pond temperatures are regularly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Rock Pond plunge into the-10's. The high level of rain makes Rock                  Pond a pretty wet place; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Kennebago River, and you can go for a hike on the Arnold Pond Trail.
