If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Rock Pond. Some close by water includes Haley Brook; if you want to take a look at some interesting stuff, take a look at Piazza Rock. Rock Pond really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Black Mountain is a glorious local ski area, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Piazza Rock Trail. From a rain point of view Rock Pond is a pretty normal spot; the

This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Black Brook Cove Campground, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Dead River - South Branch. An afternoon playing golf at Evergreen Golf Club & Golf School is always a pleasure. There is a tremendous hiking trail close to Rock Pond called the Chimney Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Coos Canyon

Cabins and Campground is a perfect site to camp.
This lake is so wonderful. Oakes Nubble can be seen from Rock Pond, and if you've had enough of Rock Pond, Midway Pond is close by. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sandy River, and the Brook Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. The skiing at Saddleback is good, and you're probably into lakes, Ledge Pond is one of those nearby.

Sandy River
Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far  the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention....

Angel Falls Trail
13 miles away
I used to climb up as a kid, and I still love it. It is a fairly easy hike, but worth it at the end. There is one small brook crossing, but other then that, it is a great place to take kids young and old....

Bugeye Pond

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....

Sugarloaf is awesome, I love it. Great mountain!...
