If the weather is pretty, you acquire a magnificent sight of Sugar Loaf from Rideout Lake, and Rideout Lake is right by the Pierce Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant close by hotel is Scottish Inns Houlton, and drift down the rapids of B Stream in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. From a precipitation point of view Rideout Lake is a rather typical place; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and       February on the other hand is the driest. What would winter be without some skiing at Bigrock, and if you come at the right time of year, Meduxnekeag River - South Branch offers some glorious whitewater. Hoyt Brook is next to Rideout Lake and is always a joy to stop by, and the Sweets Trail offers hiking at its best. If you need a place to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a magnificent choice, and Wilde Pines Campground is a delightful campground nearby. So much                  exciting stuff near Rideout Lake, just unbelievable. Hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road is wonderful fun, and Rideout Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, My Brothers Place is a great site to camp nearby. All through the summertime at Rideout Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's.
