Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. Summer at Richards Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with
winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Richards Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Eastland Park Hotel is a fine place to get some rest, and you're sure to stumble upon some fine people from Portland-South Portland here. A day
at scenic Crescent Beach in close proximity to Richards Pond is a great thing to do, and the panorama of scenic Blue Hill is brilliant. Richards Pond gets a lot of water; during the month of November you get the most rain around here,
and the driest month is August. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Lost Valley is pleasant, and if you need a place to stay The Higgins Beach Inn is a glorious choice. A spree to Adams Head near Richards Pond is always a glorious idea, and naturally Alewife Brook is a striking stream that is worth checking out.

Clean restrooms and laundry, paved roads, friendly and helpful staff, and what a view over the 3000 acre Audubon Property. A canoe or kayak ride is a must! Very close to the Eastern Trail for a scenic hike of nature and wildlife. A tranquil setting but yet close to shopping, fine dining and the beach. Not many activities on site, but no noise either. Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site. Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season. Plenty to do in the area.... |
