The beauty of Reed Pond attracts many people from all around. All through the days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Reed Pond while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Reed Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. | | to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Saddleback, and the Bigelow Range Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dead River - South Branch, and going for a hike on the Fire Warden Trail is always a delightful adventure. If you came for an overnight stay King & Bartlett Lake Camp is a great location to camp, and the snow is tremendous at Sugarloaf USA. There is a perfect hiking trail near Reed Pond called the Piazza Rock Trail, and North Branch Dead
River Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. A great panorama of picturesque Reed Hill is available from Reed Pond, and why not a little side visit to Cherry Run.

 | 10 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
