It's always fun to stop by Rainbow Pond. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Adams Pond close to Rainbow Pond, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Saco River. This lake is so wonderful. Rainbow Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Nason's Beach and Campground is a brilliant local campground, and Shawnee Peak is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. A good nearby

| | hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Saco, Maine, and there are plenty of people from Portland-South Portland here at Rainbow Pond. Rainbow Pond is a reasonably wet place regularly with a good deal of rainfall; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Northwest River flows through this neighborhood, and a beautiful lake like Chub Pond is a delightful site to visit. | |

No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Rainbow Pond. Camping at Sebago Lake Family Campground is always a pleasant experience, and Dam Number One is a picturesque place. During the long summer days here
at Rainbow Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 70's, and the night is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at Rainbow Pond throughout the winter typically dip into the 0's. If you need a location to stay Pleasant Mountain Inn is a splendid choice.

Crooked River
 | 10 miles away My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage.... |

 | 13 miles away This is a nice small pond just off of 302 but you can't hear any of the busy traffic. West Pond
 | 16 miles away West Pond is a truly special place, in the foothils of Mr. Washington. As you approach the pond from the South on Rt. 160, you are met by a breathtaking view of Mt. Washington which is 40 miles away. The water in west pond is crystal clear, and you can often hear the loons. There is a large area around the pond that is protected in tree growth, so the pond will never face additional stress of building. There is also no public access for boats, and that keeps it quiet and free of the kind of noise and congestion you see in popular lakes elsewhere.... |
Bunganut Pond
 | 16 miles away Bunganut is a wonderful body of water. The fishing is excellent in the early spring for large and smallmouth bass. The water is beautiful and is perfect for cruising on a nice boat and enjoying the sunset. Just be careful of the rocks, as Bunganut means Land of rocks in some language.... |
