    Many people like to go to Rainbow Lake. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Rainbow Lake has to offer, you can camp at Frost Pond Campground; a great nearby hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake. There's so much to do here at Rainbow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chimney Pond Campground is a magnificent place for that; you'll discover a delightful lake called Nahmakanta Lake.  
   The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Big Squaw, and you can go for a hike on the Blue Trail.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Rainbow Lake; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Rainbow Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime
 
               are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake Dam is scenic and it's near Rainbow Lake; Nahmakanta Stream is a magnificent whitewater spot close by.
Stratton Brook flows through this vicinity, and brilliant hiking is available along the Old Telos Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Penobscot River - West Branch near Rainbow Lake, and there's nice hiking along the Abol Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
