Lakes are such calm places, why not go to Holland Pond in the vicinity of Pug Pond; the Shore Road Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. All through the months of summer here at Pug Pond, high temperatures typically get into the 70's, and the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, generally in the       50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's; night lows at Pug Pond during the winter frequently drop into the 0's. The high level of precipitation makes Pug Pond a quite wet site; during November this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. If you need a site to stay Best Western Black Bear Inn & Conference Center is a nice choice; get covered with water paddling on Kenduskeag Stream. This lake                  is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Hidden Meadows Golf Course, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Scutaze Trail. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Pug Pond. Head up to New Hermon Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. There's so much to do here at Pug Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Pushaw Lake Campground is a good spot for that. While you're here at Pug Pond you can take a hike along the Hardy Pond Trail, and the friendly folks of Bangor like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful.
