After a long day outdoors Best Western Black Bear Inn & Conference Center is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by New Hermon Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Hidden Meadows Golf Course is always a       pleasure; Pug Pond is right by the Shore Road Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Pug Pond a wet location; the month with most of the rain is November; February on the other hand is the driest. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Bangor is a delightful choice; hiking is a popular thing to do around Pug Pond; Hardy Pond Trail is a wonderful local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Pug Pond is not the only spot nearby, Holland Pond is a nearby                  lake, and Pug Pond is not far at all from Bangor. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Whitten Bog is right close by, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Kenduskeag Stream. You could also visit Lost Pond since you're here at Pug Pond; it's close by, and Pug Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Pushaw Lake Campground is a good local campground. The Scutaze Trail offers hiking at its best; a fine location to camp here at Pug Pond is Villa Vaughn Campground. For the period of the months of summer at Pug Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's.
