Eastbrook Campground is a great local campground, and going for a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. You can run the rapids of Union River - West Branch right next door to Pug Pond, and if you need a place to stay White Birches Country Club is a great choice. Since you might be in a lake visiting       mood you can always take a look at nearby Partridge Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Parks Pond Campground is a nice place to camp. Pug Pond is a relatively wet place usually with a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Pug Pond. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Pug Pond descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
