The high level of rain makes Pug Pond a rather wet spot; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. Good hiking is available along the Peaked Mountain Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Pug Pond has to offer, you can camp at Parks Pond Campground. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Pug Pond; Old Gold Mine Trail is a magnificent local trail; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Ellsworth.
