A visit to Long Lake Cove in the vicinity of Pug Lake is always a wonderful idea; a splendid place to camp here at Pug Lake is Sunkhaze Campground. There is a good hiking trail close to Pug Lake called the Mud Hole Trail, and don't forget to take a splendid little spree to Bryant Brook. Pug Lake gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls through November, and the driest of the months       is June. A journey to Roosevelt Campobello International Park is worthwhile, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Machias River. At Pug Lake during the summer months highs are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Pug Lake plunge into the 0's. This location                  is unbeatable, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the vicinity of Pug Lake. Pug Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sunkhaze Campground is a nice local campground, and why not pop by a swamp like Pug Heath while you're here at Pug Lake.
