     One of the principal marks of the surroundings of Prentiss Pond is Nesuntabunt Mountain, and Wadleigh Valley is without doubt a fine place to have a look at. On a wonderful day at Prentiss Pond you can take a hike along the Number Two Trail, and Frost Pond Campground is a good campground nearby. Looking for something right next door to Prentiss Pond? Second Musquash Pond is around here; get yourself into a kayak and hit Penobscot River - West Branch.

   normal amount of rainfall falls here at Prentiss Pond; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Chimney Pond Campground, and if you need a location to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a brilliant choice. Summertime highs at Prentiss Pond frequently tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's, and after  
               the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Prentiss Pond drop into the-10's.
You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Big Squaw since you're here; the Auburn Log Hauling Road is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. Nearby lakes? Sure, Nahmakanta Lake is in the vicinity of Prentiss Pond, and get soaked paddling on Nahmakanta Stream. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Pollywog Stream from Prentiss Pond is uncomplicated, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Blue Trail.
