     While you're here at Porter Pond you can take a hike along the Bigelow Range Trail, and paddling on Parlin Pond Stream is so much fun. If the weather is good here at Porter Pond, you can go for a hike along the Sally Mountain Trail, and camping at Black Arrow Lodge is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. At Porter Pond you can observe Black Nubble, and soar down the rapids of Spencer Stream in a kayak. All through the days of summer highs  
   here at Porter Pond get into the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows at Porter Pond during the wintertime frequently plunge into the-10's.
If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Porter Pond. The skiing at Saddleback is glorious; King-Bartlett Lake Dam is a location that is in the vicinity of Porter Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Looking for something in the neighborhood of Porter Pond? Bear Pond is in the neighborhood. The Fire Warden Trail is a wonderful hiking trail near Porter Pond; Porter Pond is not the only site nearby, Baker Pond is a nearby lake.
Porter Pond gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. A day on the slopes of Sugarloaf USA is just what you need, and a magnificent place to camp here at Porter Pond is King & Bartlett Lake Camp.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
