While you're here at Porter Pond you can take a hike along the Bigelow Range Trail, and paddling on Parlin Pond Stream is so much fun. If the weather is good here at Porter Pond, you can go for a hike along the Sally Mountain Trail, and camping at Black Arrow Lodge is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows at Porter Pond during the wintertime frequently plunge into the-10's.  | 17 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
