If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Nicatous Stream. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Porter Pond. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are       in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Porter Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Porter Pond, you could also pop by nearby Trueworthy Pond. There's so much to do here at Porter Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Spring Campground is a good spot for that. Porter Pond is a wet location that gets lots of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Be careful coming                  to Porter Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. After a long day outdoors White Birches Country Club is a perfect site to spend a night or two; going for a hike along the Lead Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Whitewater paddling is fine on Passadumkeag River; a lake close by is Lower Pistol Lake.
