Do stop by Portage Lake while you're in this part of Maine. Hiking along the Webster Brook Tote Road is delightful fun; Portage Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Libby's Sporting Camps is a fine local campground. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Portage Lake. Indian Point is around here and always great to have a look at; camping at Clover Hill Campground is always a nice experience. Paddling on Machias River is so much fun, and one of the major characteristics of the surroundings of Portage Lake is West Mountain.
