If you came for an overnight stay South Branch Pond Campground is a good place to camp, and Dry Gorge is a wonderful place to have a look at. Through the summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Pogy Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Pogy Pond dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. Get soaked paddling on Nesowadnehunk       Stream River, and after a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a fine site to spend a night or two. An average amount of rainfall falls at Pogy Pond; July is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Sandy Stream in a kayak; Inscription Rock is an exciting site to stop at while at Pogy Pond. Chimney Pond Campground is a delightful local campground, and if you get bored of                  Pogy Pond you could also visit close by Bell Pond. The South Branch Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Pogy Pond, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Grand Falls. And that's not all you can do here at Pogy Pond. If the weather is wonderful here at Pogy Pond, you can go for a hike along the Howe, and let's not forget Snub Brook which is a stream that you may encounter while here. This lake is so wonderful.
