    Pockwockamus Pond is a lake worth visiting. Chimney Pond Campground is a magnificent local campground, and there's splendid hiking along the Telephone Trail. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sandy Stream. Lakes are splendid; Oak Hill Pond is a lake that's in close proximity to Pockwockamus Pond. Pockwockamus Pond gets a common amount of rainfall; most of the rain  
   falls during July; February is the month with the least moisture.
Good hiking is available along the Chimney Pond Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Sunday Pond. Don't forget to take a good little visit to Beaver Brook, and you'll meet a lot of people from Bangor here. Katahdin Inn is a nice place to get some rest; you can go for a hike on the Dudley Trail.

               overnight stay Big Moose Campground is a great place to camp; there's whitewater on Nesowadnehunk Stream for all you adrenaline kick people. Through the long summer days at Pockwockamus Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Pockwockamus Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
