    Plain Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Plain Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bally-Hoo Campground is a great local campground, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Shingle Pond Trail. There's whitewater on Ossipee River for all you thrill seekers, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Cranmore Mountain. South River is a charming stream that is worth a visit; an  
   attention-grabbing thing to pop by in close proximity to Plain Pond is Bickford Pond Dam.
This lake is so wonderful. Oxford House Inn is a great place to get some rest, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Weeks Brook Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Merrill Farm Resort. There's so much to do here at Plain Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Windsong Campgrounds is a magnificent spot for that.                Plain Pond a pretty wet spot; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while September is usually the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Plain Pond. The Province Brook Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close to Plain Pond, and you can hit the slopes at King Pine close by. High temperatures at Plain Pond through the warm months are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Plain Pond nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's.
