    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Pickerel Pond. Do stop by Holland Pond in the neighborhood of Pickerel Pond, it's a striking lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Black Bear Inn & Conference Center. Camping is available at Pushaw Lake Campground, and this is a popular site for folks from Bangor. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Pickerel Pond while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally  
   in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Pickerel Pond.
The high level of precipitation makes Pickerel Pond a pretty wet site; through November this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. While you're here at Pickerel Pond you can take a hike along the Hardy Pond Trail, and why not camp at Villa Vaughn Campground while you're here at Pickerel Pond.
There are some perfect whitewater spots on Penobscot River; the Shore Road Trail
 
               is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. Be careful coming to Pickerel Pond, you might not ever want to go home again. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Stillwater River; if you're here, you could also stop by pretty Mansell Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is pleasant here at Pickerel Pond, you can go for a hike along the Scutaze Trail, and New Hermon Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Bangor is a nice choice, and while you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Hidden Meadows Golf Course.
