    In Maine there are many beautiful lakes, Pickerel Pond is one of them. Summer at Pickerel Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Pickerel Pond temperatures descend to the 0's. A lot of precipitation falls at Pickerel Pond; most of the rain falls through November, and February on the other hand is the  
   driest. This lake is so wonderful. Sunkhaze Stream is a great whitewater spot in the vicinity of Pickerel Pond, and the Peaked Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best.
Red Barn RV Park is a brilliant campground nearby, and a good nearby hotel is University Inn Academic Suites. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Pickerel Pond; Old Gold Mine Trail is a brilliant local trail; Bear Den Hill is clearly visible from Pickerel Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               A quick tour to Wiley Brook near Pickerel Pond is a good idea, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Union River - West Branch. If you came for an overnight stay Parks Pond Campground is a good place to camp, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Eagle Lake Trail. So many enjoyable things to do at Pickerel Pond, so little time. If you're stopping by Pickerel Pond from Bangor, you won't be the only one, and Best Western Black Bear Inn & Conference Center is a glorious place to get some rest.
