| | Pond is a reasonably wet place usually with much precipitation; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most; September on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hemlock Hills Campground is a great location to do that, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Douglass Brook. At Perley Pond through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is | |

down it dips down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Perley Pond are in the 0's. A glorious nearby hotel is Oxford House Inn. Camping at Nason's Beach and Campground is always a brilliant experience, and Naples Golf & Country Club is a splendid golf course nearby.

Crooked River
My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage....
Sebago Lake Basin
14 miles away I grew up on Lindsay Island. My folks sold the Islands in 1951 or 52 and moved west to California. My father is still alive but does not remember the selling price. Thks Bob Kelly. ...The Lindsay Islands were purchased in 1957 and are still owned today by three families, the Freemans, Leavitts and Bancrofts...
Chaffin Pond
15 miles away This is a nice small pond just off of 302 but you can't hear any of the busy traffic. I'd recommend LOTS of bug sprays as the mosquitoes tend to swarm and are very plentiful this year. If you're not a fisherman but your children are...there are picnic tables for you to enjoy a book, needlepoint, or just relax and take in the fresh air....
West Pond
15 miles away West Pond is a truly special place, in the foothils of Mr. Washington. As you approach the pond from the South on Rt. 160, you are met by a breathtaking view of Mt. Washington which is 40 miles away. The water in west pond is crystal clear, and you can often hear the loons. There is a large area around the pond that is protected in tree growth, so the pond will never face additional stress of building. There is also no public access for boats, and that keeps it quiet and free of the kind of noise and congestion you see in popular lakes elsewhere....
Bunganut Lake Camping Area
19 miles away Some of the friendliest folks I have ever met camp here....
Bunganut Pond
19 miles away Bunganut is a wonderful body of water. The fishing is excellent in the early spring for large and smallmouth bass. The water is beautiful and is perfect for cruising on a nice boat and enjoying the sunset. Just be careful of the rocks, as Bunganut means Land of rocks in some language....
