Penobscot River Reservoir is right by the Shore Road Trail; if you need a place to stay University Inn Academic Suites is a tremendous choice.       High temperatures at Penobscot River Reservoir during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Penobscot River Reservoir fall into the 0's. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. If you come at the right time                  of year, Piscataquis River offers some good whitewater, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Bangor here. Hiking along the Hardy Pond Trail is splendid fun, and Penobscot River Reservoir is a nice spot to visit for more than one day, King's Trailer Park is a nice spot to camp nearby. Not far from Penobscot River Reservoir you get some pleasant water scenery at Stanford Dam, and do take a hike on the Shore Trail. The annual precipitation here at Penobscot River Reservoir is about average; through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
