A visit to Penney Pond is always a good idea. Penney Pond is a relatively wet place mostly with a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is February. You're probably keen on lakes, Gould Pond is one of those close by, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Augusta is a glorious choice. Lakes are fine; Joe Pond is a lake that's right next door to Penney Pond; why not head up to Eaton Mountain

While you're here at Penney Pond you will meet lots of folks from close by Augusta-Waterville, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Penney Pond; Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a nice local trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent site to camp here at Penney Pond is Great Pond Campground, and Comfort Inn Civic Center is a glorious location to get some rest. Penney Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Penney Pond are in the 0's.
