There are some great whitewater spots on Crooked River. There's so much to do here at Peabody Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Bridgton Pines Cabins and Campground is a great place for that, and Accomac Mountain is stunning and can be spotted from here. Peabody Pond gets a lot of water; November is the month that gets the most rain; September is when it's       the driest. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Foster Pond, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Saco River. This lake is so wonderful. The scenery at Peabody Lake Mill Dam in the neighborhood of Peabody Pond is striking; a round of golf at nearby Naples Golf & Country Club is a perfect way to kill some time. Dry warm beds await you at First & Last Resort Motel, and what would winter be without some skiing at Shawnee Peak.                  There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Peabody Pond. If you came to camp Hemlock Hills Campground is a pleasant spot to do that, and why not a little side trip to Douglass Brook. High temperatures at Peabody Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Peabody Pond temperatures descend to the 0's.
