    It's always fun to stop by Papoose Pond. There's wonderful hiking along the Albany Mountain Trail. Not far from Papoose Pond, you'll stumble on Hutchinson Pond which is a stunning lake; hiking is a popular thing to do around Papoose Pond; Albany Notch Trail is a nice local trail. All through the summertime at Papoose Pond temperatures are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter  
   lows in the-10's overnight here at Papoose Pond.
This lake is located in the wonderful White Mountains. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Papoose Pond. Stay the night at Bear Mountain Village, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Crooked River. Papoose Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
Head up to Mount Abram and strap some
 
               skis to your feet, and The Bethel Inn Resort is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Papoose Pond is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Papoose Pond Camping Resort is a tremendous place to camp nearby, and why not explore a swamp like Town Farm Swamp since you're here at Papoose Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Papoose Pond without first going for a hike along the Albany Brook Trail, and if you need a site to stay Pleasant Mountain Inn is a fine choice.
If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the White Mountains. A day on the slopes of Shawnee Peak is just what you need; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Speck Ponds. These mountains rock, just explore all the exciting stuff to do in the White Mountains. A delightful view of pretty Brown Hill is available from Papoose Pond, and as expected Hemlock Brook is a delightful stream that is worth a visit.

My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage....
