    Paine Pond is a lake worth visiting. Paine Pond is right by the Albany Brook Trail, and after a long day outdoors Ledgewood Motel is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Bisco Falls is a scenic place to go to while you're at Paine Pond, and a lovely lake like Bird Pond is a fine place to explore. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Paine Pond. If you came for an overnight stay The Hemlocks Campground is a good spot to camp; a round of golf  
   at nearby Norway Country Club is a good way to kill some time.
At Paine Pond during the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are commonly in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Paine Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps are attention-grabbing spots and Witt Swamp next to Paine Pond is no exception, and Shawnee Peak has magnificent slopes and a friendly
 
               staff. This lake is so wonderful. You can see Cobble Hill from Paine Pond, and camping at Paine Pond is great fun, Two Lakes Camping is a great local campground.
From a precipitation point of view Paine Pond is a relatively normal location; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. Whitewater paddling is great on Little Androscoggin River, and Goodwin's Motor Inn is a brilliant place to get some rest.
Really great skiing awaits you at Mount Abram; do take a hike on the Albany Mountain Trail.
