     The beauty of Otter Ponds attracts many people from all around. Quiet Side Campground is a great local campground, and close by you come across the Harbor Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the area in the neighborhood of Otter Ponds has to offer. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Goose Pond, and nothing beats kicking back at Hero Beach. This lake is so  
   wonderful. If you want a little side visit, try Sister Ledge, and if you have time to spare, Acadia National Park is a national park worth stopping at.
On a beautiful day you obtain a view of Big Mountain from Otter Ponds; going for a hike on the Western Mountain South Face Trail is always a great adventure. A spree to close by East Point is very relaxing. Lakes? Sure, Stockbridge Pond is in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. You simply ought to
 
               stop at High Head if you're here at Otter Ponds, and Harbor Heights Vacation Rental is a perfect spot to get some rest.
Why not camp at Bass Harbor Campground if you're here at Otter Ponds, and the Wonderland Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. Otter Ponds sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and August meanwhile is the driest month. And that's not all you can do here at Otter Ponds. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Joyce Beach.
High temperatures at Otter Ponds all through the summer are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Otter Ponds. After a long day outdoors The Harbour Cottage Inn is a wonderful site to spend a night or two, and get dripping wet paddling on Blue Hill Falls.

We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness....
