Go to Otter Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. White Birches Country Club is a glorious place to get some rest, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Passadumkeag River. Little Guagus Stream is a perfect local stream, and there's great hiking along the Eagle Lake Trail. All through the days of summer at Otter Pond highs are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while

| | Otter Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. Camping is available at Cold Spring Campground; the Lead Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Be careful coming to Otter Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. Otter Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; November is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Maple Grove Campground is a magnificent place to camp, and get wet paddling on Nicatous Stream. | |
