If you like swamps, you're in luck, Lower Hathan Bog is right nearby, and camping at Cathedral Pines Camping Area is always a perfect experience. The warmest time of the year at Otter Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's; overnight lows at Otter Pond during the winter ordinarily fall into the-10's.       There are pleasant places to explore along the Arnold Trail, and a tremendous site to camp here at Otter Pond is Cupsuptic Campground. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Otter Pond. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dead River - North Branch, and Round Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. All the water falling down from the sky makes Otter Pond a wet spot; during August this area                  sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Saddleback is in the neighborhood of Otter Pond. Going for a hike on the Arnold Pond Trail is always a pleasant adventure; if you get bored of Otter Pond you could also pop by nearby Natanis Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
