This lake is so wonderful. Crown Park Inn is a glorious spot to get some rest, and if you come at the right time of year, Machias River offers some good whitewater. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Osgood Deadwater has it all. If you came for an overnight stay Homestead Lodge is a great site to camp, and don't leave       Osgood Deadwater without first going for a hike along the Snowshoe Lake Road. Take a little tour to South Branch Otter Brook while you're here at Osgood Deadwater, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Squa Pan Stream. This lake is so wonderful. An average amount of rain falls at Osgood Deadwater; during the month of July you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February. Through the warm                  days of summer at Osgood Deadwater highs are mostly in the 70's, and the night is rather cooler of course, typically in the 50's.
