There is a magnificent hiking trail near Ordway Pond called the Intake Trail, and Ordway Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a great local campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area near Ordway Pond has to offer. There's some flowing water       close by, Bald Mountain Stream is a stream you can stop by while here, and get dripping wet paddling on Piscataquis River - East Branch. For the duration of the months of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Ordway Pond while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 20's; nighttime lows during the winter for Ordway Pond tend to be in the-10's. Not far from Ordway Pond, you'll find Little Ordway Pond                  which is a lovely lake. There's so much to do here at Ordway Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Balsam woods Campground is a good site for that. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good site to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Bingham Motor Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Piscataquis River - West Branch, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Hatch Falls.
