     What would winter be without some skiing at Eaton Mountain, and there are other places here than Ordway Pond, for example Brackett Pond. There is a magnificent hiking trail near Ordway Pond called the Intake Trail, and Ordway Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a great local campground. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area near Ordway Pond has to offer. There's some flowing water  
   close by, Bald Mountain Stream is a stream you can stop by while here, and get dripping wet paddling on Piscataquis River - East Branch. For the duration of the months of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Ordway Pond while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 20's; nighttime lows during the winter for Ordway Pond tend to be in the-10's.
Not far from Ordway Pond, you'll find Little Ordway Pond
 
               which is a lovely lake. There's so much to do here at Ordway Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Balsam woods Campground is a good site for that. Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good site to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Bingham Motor Inn is a delightful place to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Piscataquis River - West Branch, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Hatch Falls. Ordway Pond gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; most of the rain falls through July, and February is the month with the least moisture.

Breezy Acres Camps and Guide Service is located in both Solon and Eustis Maine. He have housekeeping cabins which are set up with full size stoves, refrigerators,microwave, coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, etc. The beds are made with linens and there are plenty of towels for the shower in the bathroom. Each cabin has its own picnic table, charcoal grill and outside fire pit. We can sleep up to 38 people.

You can access snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cabin for many miles of riding. Canoeing and kayaking on various lakes, ponds, streams and rivers are a great way to relax. Hunting, fishing, golf and white water rafting are some of the other activities that we offer.

We offer reasonable rates and great hospitality.

Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan....
