Go to Oak Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Whitewater paddling is great on Pleasant River, and Bar Harbor Inn is a glorious site to get some rest. Oak Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sunset Point Campground is a nice local campground, and going for a hike on the Lead Mountain Trail is always a great adventure. | | with most of the rain is November while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Barren Pond Brook is a beautiful stream that is worth going to, and if you get bored of Oak Pond you could also check out close by Barren Pond. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mopang Stream, and a pleasant trip to The Middle Grounds is a splendid way to spend an afternoon. For | |

the duration of the warm months highs here at Oak Pond get into the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Oak Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the winter
are in the 0's. A delightful location to camp here at Oak Pond is Keenes Lake Camping Grounds; Hadley Lakes is a nearby lake that you could check out.

Clifford Lake
 | 16 miles away Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
