Whitewater paddling is great on Pleasant River, and Bar Harbor Inn is a glorious site to get some rest. Oak Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sunset Point Campground is a nice local campground, and going for a hike on the Lead Mountain Trail is always a great adventure. All the water falling down from the sky makes Oak Pond a wet site; the month       with most of the rain is November while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Barren Pond Brook is a beautiful stream that is worth going to, and if you get bored of Oak Pond you could also check out close by Barren Pond. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mopang Stream, and a pleasant trip to The Middle Grounds is a splendid way to spend an afternoon. For                  the duration of the warm months highs here at Oak Pond get into the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Oak Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's.
