Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a pleasant campground nearby; after a long day outdoors Pittsfield Motor Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. Taking a little visit to close by South Cove is a perfect idea. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Number Four Mountain Trail, and Big Squaw is a perfect local ski area. And that's not all you can do here at Notch Pond. Cranberry       Brook is a glorious spot to stop by, and if you came for an overnight stay Wildwood Shores Campground is a good location to camp. If you come at the right time of year, Big Wilson Stream offers some fine whitewater, and good hiking is available along the Intake Trail. Don't leave Notch Pond without first going for a hike along the Gulf Hagas Trail; a good nearby hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Summertime highs at Notch Pond generally tend to be in the                  70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Notch Pond.
