Do visit Beaver Pond Dam while you're here at Northwest Pond, and do have a look at Little Northwest Pond, it's a charming lake. All through the long summer days at Northwest Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Northwest Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Saddleback is in the neighborhood of Northwest

| | Pond. Northwest Pond ordinarily gets much rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Don't leave Northwest Pond without first going for a hike along the Arnold Trail. There's so much to do here at Northwest Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a great location for that. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kennebago River, and brilliant hiking is available | |

along the Arnold Pond Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Dead River - North Branch, and if you came to camp Cupsuptic Campground is a nice site to do that. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Northwest Pond; Morrell Trail is a pleasant local trail, and a scenic lake like Grants Pond is a wonderful spot to pop by.

 | 12 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
