If you come at the right time of year, Dead River - North Branch offers some tremendous whitewater; going for a hike along the Arnold Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Summer at Northwest Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-10's       for Northwest Pond. A fine nearby hotel is Mountain View Cottages, and Beaver Pond Dam is a striking place, positively worth going to. Northwest Pond is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is usually the driest month. If you need a spot to stay Kern's Inn & Chalet is a fine choice. There are some great whitewater spots on Kennebago River, and if you came for an overnight stay Cupsuptic                  Campground is a nice location to camp. If the weather is glorious here at Northwest Pond, you can go for a hike along the Morrell Trail, and Northwest Pond is not the only site close by, Beaver Pond is a close by lake. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area next to Northwest Pond has to offer.
