Why not stop by North Pond if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Black Brook is a pretty stream that is worth stopping at, and there are pleasant places to look at along the Speck Pond Trail. North Pond is located in the White Mountains. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. If you need a place to stay Grand Summit Resort Sunday River is a nice choice; there is a brilliant hiking trail

| | close by called the Old Speck Mountain Trail. That right there is a heap of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the White Mountains has it all. Going for a hike on the Table Rock Trail is always a fine adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Sunday River. All through the summertime, highs generally are in the 70's at North Pond, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. for more than one day, Mollidgewock Campground is a good spot to camp nearby, and Swift Cambridge River is a pleasant whitewater spot close by. You'll need more than a day to look at everything North Pond has to offer, you can camp at Pleasant River Campground, and Sunday River is a delightful local ski area.
