So many entertaining things next to Nahmakanta Lake, just mind-blowing. There is a good hiking trail right next door to Nahmakanta Lake called the Number Two Trail, and float down the rapids of Penobscot River - West Branch in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is good at Big Squaw, and obviously Gould Brook is a pretty stream       that is worth a visit. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Nahmakanta Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's while Nahmakanta Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. On a delightful day at Nahmakanta Lake you can take a hike along the Telephone Trail, and while you're here, you could also check out lovely Prentiss Pond. If the weather is good                  here at Nahmakanta Lake, you can go for a hike along the Blue Trail, and do have a look at Gould Pond, it's a beautiful lake. Nahmakanta Lake gets a normal amount of annual rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Why not camp at Frost Pond Campground since you're here at Nahmakanta Lake, and paddling on Nahmakanta Stream is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful.
