Sheepscot River - West Branch is a nice whitewater spot in close proximity to Mud Pond, and if you came to camp Pine Ridge Campgrounds is a nice spot to do that. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn WATERVILLE, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Linscott Branch. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Pond; through the month of November you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

| | You can run the rapids of Sheepscot River close to Mud Pond, and a delightful lake like Saban Pond is a fine place to go to. You're sure to run into some nice folks from Augusta-Waterville here. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Town Line Campsites is always a splendid experience; Bear Pond is a good lake close by. Summertime highs at Mud Pond regularly tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. | |

Eaton Mountain
 | 26 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
