     Mud Pond is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a pleasant local campground, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Piscataquis River - East Branch. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Intake Trail is a fine local trail; a wonderful place for whitewater paddling is Piscataquis River - West Branch.  
   No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Mud Pond. If you're here at Mud Pond, you could stop by Little Bennett Brook, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Eaton Mountain is relatively near.
Dry warm beds await you at Bingham Motor Inn, and there's good hiking along the Big Squaw Mountain Trail. The annual rain here at Mud Pond is about average; during July this area sees the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.
Summertime
 
               highs at Mud Pond usually tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Mud Pond. Camping at Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is always a brilliant experience, and if you need a location to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a brilliant choice.
